Isn’t time away supposed to be a chance to break away from work and daily life activities? A new way to travel has burst on the health and fitness travel scene. You are encouraged to stay connected with your smartphones and laptops while at the same time focusing on your health and wellness. Wellness sabbaticals are typically 3 weeks or longer. This gives a person time to develop habits and lifestyle changes that encourage healthy minds and bodies.

Wellness sabbaticals are a different way of experiencing time away from work and everyday life. It is about slowing down and giving yourself a chance to reboot and recharge. It is similar to a wellness retreat in that your time off may include spirituality, fitness, meditation, detox, healing, and/or yoga.

The idea for the wellness sabbatical is to continue to work, however, in a serene environment at a slower pace. Consider a mountain top cabin overlooking nature or a cabana on a secluded beach with ocean waves crashing on to the seashore in the background. Movement and exercise options will be available along with healthy meal options. In addition, look for stress-reducing treatments coupled with healthy sleep being a priority.

Many of us have changed the way we work. Remote offices are becoming more and more common allowing jobs to be carried out anywhere there are strong Wi-Fi connections. Burnout and stress have become increasingly prevalent resulting in sick and unhealthy employees.

In the long run, the change of scenery can boost productivity and relaxation and best of all ensure we have a work and wellness balance that affords health and happiness.

We at Tarpon Interventional Pain & Spine Care encourage our patients to take care of their minds and bodies. If you are experiencing pain, please reach out to our board-certified physicians to help get you back to positive living again.
